Accommodations
The accommodations used in our Cuba program will be comfortable; however, it is hard to guarantee specific hotels in advance as availability is controlled by the Cuban government. Please also be aware that Cuban hotels may not reflect the same standards and amenities found on other IE journeys. Below is a sample of the hotels we may use.
Hotel Playa Larga – Bay of PigsHotel Playa Larga, located in the natural surroundings of Bahia de Cochinos (Bay of Pigs), offers air-conditioned accommodations with private bathrooms, balcony or terrace and satellite TV. Other facilities include restaurants, a swimming pool, shops and tennis courts. The entire complex is reminiscent of a neighborhood from the 1950s, complete with wide front porches and palm-lined sidewalks according to IE Art Director Charlie Boyd.

Hotel del Rijo – Sancti SpiritusThe Hotel del Rijo is a comfortable colonial style hotel, nestled amid the winding streets of Sancti Spiritus, a city founded in 1514. The hotel is housed in a former family home built between 1818 and 1827. After extensive renovations, the building was re-opened as a hotel in late 2001. All of the hotel’s 16 rooms are decorated in a manner typical of colonial mansions. The hotel rooms are air conditioned, with en suite facilities, safe, minibar, room service, telephone, radio and cable TV. The Costa Sur - TrinidadSet on its own beach just minutes from Trinidad, the Costa Sur underwent complete refurbishment in 2007. Each of the rooms is air conditioned with private bathroom and satellite TV. Other hotel amenities include swimming pool, medical services, safe deposit box and currency exchange. |
