Kenya Migration: Wildlife's Greatest Spectacle

Tanzania & Kenya: The Wilds of East Africa

• We have been exploring Africa for decades, and have developed an enormous amount of expertise. This itinerary is planned to give you the maximum amount of wildlife, concentrated into a relatively short span of time.

• We’ve specially chosen accommodations close to nature, in deluxe permanent tented camps, in fine lodges and tented camps.

• You’re accompanied by great professional naturalist guides, all certified by the Kenya Professional Safari Guides Association.

• Your group will be small (a maximum of 18), so you’ll receive personal attention from your guides.

• You travel in go-anywhere custom-built four-wheel drive Land Rovers with window seats for everyone — no more than 6 guests per vehicle. And you fly to and from the Masai Mara Reserve, eliminating long drives and maximizing your time seeing wildlife.

Kenya

East Africa is known for snowcapped Kilimanjaro, acacia-dotted savannahs of the Serengeti and the Masai Mara, the awesome escarpments and flamingo-covered soda lakes of the Great Rift Valley and the breathtaking Ngorongoro Crater. Under a limitless sapphire sky there are large animals in huge numbers. Elephant, giraffe, rhinoceros, baboon, zebra, leopard, lion and cheetah have evolved and adapted for eons in this ancient landscape, alongside more than one thousand colorful bird species and a multitude of other life forms.

Drawing on our many years of experience, we have created a number of journeys in Kenya and Tanzania that are enthralling and comprehensive. We visit places where game is most abundant, and where you’re also likely to encounter some rarities.

Our 17-day Tanzania & Kenya Safari gives you a thorough view of these two great countries. A unique element is our three nights in the Serengeti at our own private classic mobile tented camp — which we’ll situate where wildlife is likely to be most abundant at the time of your visit.

Seeing the great migration of wildebeest, zebras and gazelles cross the African plains is a dream of just about any wildlife enthusiast. In one single glance, you can see thousands of animals making their way across the Mara River or through the Serengeti grasslands. Our Kenya Migration Safari and Tanzania Migration Safari (new in 2006) put you in prime position, at the right time of year, to have the greatest chance of seeing the great herds. And now with two opportunities, it is possible to pick the time of year that is best for you.

On all our safaris, you’ll travel in go-anywhere four-wheel drive vehicles, and stay in some of East Africa’s finest lodges and tented camps. And as with all International Expeditions journeys, you will be accompanied by the finest guides and local experts who seem to know anything and everything about this region.
